Ryde Hockey Masters Members and New Players

The 2014 Sydney Mens Masters Hockey competition will start with the Pre-Season Comp in the first week of February 4-5th and the main competition in the first week of March 2013. In 2014 we would like to increase our player depth and numbers to take up an opportunity to enter a 4th team.

This could mean a combined team with Macquarie Uni to ensure we have enough numbers.

Player Eligibility:

You need to turn 40 years of age in 2013 (ie before the 31st Dec 2013). The exception is: A grade are allowed to have on their roster 5 underage players however only 3 can take part in a game.

  • One player who will be 37 by
    31st December 2013 and
  • One player who will be 38 by
    31st December 2013 and
  • One player who will be 39 by
    31st December 2013

We are particularly keen
to hear from anyone:

  • who is eligible to play and is at A grade standard and anyone who falls into the underage rule for A grade or
  • who is eligible to play and is around the C – D grade standard.

Masters is played at Olympic on Tuesday or Wednesday nights – earliest game 6:15 & latest game 9:30. The 2014 competition structure will be along the following lines –

Masters hockey is:

  1. A great way to continue your
    hockey career,
  2. Have the opportunity to be
    selected in Sydney representative teams
    (35, 40, 45, 50, 55, 60s), potentially be selected to play for NSW and
    even Australia.
  3. Play with your mates
  4. Get a bit fitter
  5. And enjoy an after game social
    drink.
