Trials

* Sunday, 25th February – There will be a Registration day for all players new and old to come and have a run in informal teams and get a feel for what the standard is like this year. This will be run in two sessions:
9 – 10:30am – Those who played in Grades 2 to 4 last year
10:30 – 12pm –  Those who played in Grades 5 to 7 last year

Those new to the Club can attend either session depending on their level of experience and fitness.  Players may attend both sessions if they wish as some of you may like to check your skills and fitness against those in the higher grades.

* Sunday, 4th March – There will be an internal trial which we strongly recommend all players attend so that you can have a run in preparation for the external trials commencing Sunday 11th. This should allow you to get a feel for what the standard is like this year and to chat with the coaches about your aspirations for the season, or to get advice if you are unsure as to which grade you should aim to play in. This will be run in four sessions:

10 – 11am – TBC – Those who played 1st grade at any time last year and those who have been invited to trial. If you are interested in playing in 1st grade this year, please contact Gina Rees on 0426 264 496 to discuss.
11 – 12:30pm – Those who played 2nd and 3rd grade last year or those who have aspirations to play in these grades
12:30 – 2pm – Those who played 4th and 5th grade last year or those who have aspirations to play in these grades
2 – 3:30pm – Those who played 6th and 7th grade last year and those new to hockey

Those new to the Club can attend the session they feel is likely to match their level of experience and fitness.
Players may be asked to attend more than one session and to try different positions so please anticipate this when you plan your day.
Players may attend more than one session if they wish as some of you may like to check your skills and fitness against those in the higher grades.

Compulsory external trials:

Sunday 11th March, 8am to 6pm vs GNS/Mac Uni (all grades)
Sunday 18th March, 10am to 5pm vs Sydney Uni (all grades)
Sunday 25th March, 10am to 5pm – vs Mosman Harbourside (all grades) (1st grade v Glebe)

Evaluations of players by the selectors during the first and second trial will be used to form the teams for the second and third trials.
Players may be moved up or down during the trials depending on a number of factors including skills, fitness, strategy and gameplay, position and versatility of position.  Therefore it is important that you are using the time now to improve your fitness and brush up on your skills so that you can put your best foot forward at the trials.

***Pre-season training is on every Tuesdays 6.45pm-7.45pm and we encourage everyone to attend.
