Brisbane PreSeason TigerTurf Cup – Women’s 1st Grade

We took a very young squad this year, with 10 of our 16 players aged between 14-17. We looked at the tournament as more of a development opportunity for these players, however they certainly held their own and put in a huge effort on the field. For the first time ever, we progressed to the play offs for the cup (not the plate!) after topping our pool following two strong wins (3-0, 3-1) and a draw (1-1). Sunday morning saw us play the home side, Easts, in the quarter final. Unfortunately their experience was too much for us and we went down 3-0. Easts ended up progressing to the grand final where they lost to QU. All in all, it was an enjoyable and worthwhile trip and our most successful Brisbane campaign to date. Looking forward to returning in 2020!
